Obstacles

The adventure genre includes obstacles that characters must overcomve. These include man vs. himself, man vs. man and man vs. nature. Describe two obstacles you have read in your novel and give specific evidence from the text to prove your answers.

In my book Mockingjay, the main character Katniss she has to overcome the obstacle which is in this case women vs. herself. She has to decide by herself if she wants to play mind tricks with the capitol and be the leader of the rebellion or if she is just going to be the follower of the pack.
Also another obstacle is women vs. capitol. Which means, that when Katniss leads the rebellion or even if she follows, she will have to face the capitol one way or another.

Who wants her to be the leader of the rebellion? Why do they want a rebellion? Remember to assume that others have not read your book.

the people who are wanting her to rebel are the people who are in charge of didtrict 13. they want a rebellion because they wan the capitol to realize how many things they are doing wrong. (mostly the hunger games). They also want president snow to know that he is not the role model he is trying to be.

In my book, Zoey she has to over come lots of obstacles. She's a vampire and every fledging has a mentar. Well she had a bad feeling about her, and she knew she was bad. Her name is Nefert.
Nefert likes to make people turn against Zoey, and her group of friends to hate her. It ends up that it happens, only because Nefert can read her friends minds, so Zoey would never tell them anything. But Nefert can't read Zoey's mind because she is to powerful. Well then all broke loose and Nefert and Zoey started to hate eachother, and Nefert and Zoey are both High Pristess. Well there is a Higher Pristess in the House Of Night and Nefert told her that Zoey lies about everything, and that Zoey isn't up to any good, but it's not true. it's the other way around.

What types of obstacles is Zoey trying to overcome. You have given details but, haven't stated what these obstacles are (eg. man vs. man).

Zoey is trying to defeat the strongest most powerful guy, Named Kalona. He arrised from the ground the night she was having her Ritual. The moment Steavie Rae got an arrow below the heart. She bleed scarrlet red blood, which made me come up from the ground, he has many children that arnt real kids. They are called Raven Mockers. They have limbs and eyes of a man, wings that are dark black. Everyone that sees him will fall for him, on to their knees and want him. She has to learn how to over come him, and bring him down.

In my book, Hoot,, Roy faces obstacles of man vs man and man vs himself.On the buss a bully Dana Matherson bugs roy every day. In school dana attacks roy alot. They battle out in the broom closet behind locked doors one day and roy breaks dana's nose, and only roy gets suspended but no punishment occurs to dana. Roy finds a boy and it turns out that it is someones stepbrother, Big beatrice. She is the toughest soccer player in school. She drags roy out to help her brother after being bit by dogs. Roy takes the boy to the hospital and uses his own name to sign the boy in and goes against his better judgement. Then he lies to the doctor about the boys injuries aagain against his better judgement, now roy has to tell his parents what he has done. Should he tell them what he really did or make up another lie. this is man vs himself.

In the hobbit, bilbo must first overcome his extreme distaste of adventures. This would be man vs. himself. The dwarves and Gandalf beg Bilbo to accompany them, but to no avail. In the end it was Bilbo's pride that persuaded him to go. But once they embarked on their journey, the group came across a bunch of trolls. The trolls captured them and were about to devour them but gandalf confused them by throwing his voice amongst the trees. The trolls argued till the sun rose and they all turned to stone. This is man vs. nature.

In "Soldier X", man vs. himself would be him being forced into fighting battles when he doesn't want to. He does not like Hitler, but because he was in Germany he had to go to war. His job was to enterperit Russians because thats where he was born. He is definelty not the one for war.
Man vs. Man would be the war. Eric fights in the world war one beside Hitler. man vs. man is man fighting man.
