The Hobbit is an adventure novel because the main character, Bilbo Baggins, has very strong feelings against adventures. He thinks that adventures are nasty, disturbing, uncomfortable things that make you late for dinner (which he adores). The other main character is a wizard named Gandalf who is widely known for his adventures. He quite enjoys them and wishes for Bilbo to attend this adventure with him.

In the book it doesn't really describe how they look. Bilbo is very short, like all hobbits, with hairy feet, extremely curly hair and a very round belly. Gandalf is a tall, wizened man with bushy eyebrows and a long gray beard that matches his hair. That is basically their descriptions although it was said that Gandalf has a mischevious twinkle in his old eyes

Hoot is not really an adventure novel but it fit in the best, and i'm only on page 5. the storyline is fiction and it is easy to connect with the characters. Roy is the main characterer and he is decribed well so that throughout the story you understand what he feelslike.

Could you describe Roy a bit better? The assignment was to describe the characters. Why not tell me why Hoot fit into the adventure category better than the others. Give me something to work with!! sideways smiley face :)

I am only on page 5 i will give you more details later. It only says a few things in the first 5 pages. So far Roy is being forcifly held to the window where he is watching a boy run in bare feet.

In The Ranger's Apprentice, the main character is named Will, apprentice of the great Halt. He loves adventures when he has to solve cases for his mentor Halt, the senior ranger and the man who saved thousands of lives from the war, Halt thinks they should stay home because he is getting to old for the ranger job. But Will, accompanied by his best friend Horace, and the love of his life, he will go on his own seperate cases.

What type of cases does Will solve? Is this set in present times, medieval times or victorian times? Is Holt a lot older than Will? Who is the love of his life, and do you think she will play a significant role?

Will solves cases like reported murder or important missing people. It is also based in medieval times.

I can tell he loves adventure because he follows Halt on cases when halt leaves him behind. And he doesn't listen to Halt when he says to drop a case. He just keeps solving them.

Catching Fire
the characters in my novel that demonstrate that my book is an adventure are Katniss and Peeta wich are the main characters. I can't really say anything about the book yet because i'm only on the first chapter.. but iv'e read the first the 'Hunger Games' so i kind of got the idea of the novels being an adventure genre. Once I read more of the book, i'll write more.

My novel is an adventure. The main character makes this an adventure book because, Zoey is always out explore trying different things, i dont know much about this book, because i just started the 5th book. and only read 1 chapter so far.

In "Soldier X", a man by the name of Erik Brandt, lived near Seattle, Washinton, in a small house in a wooded area overlooking a beautiful lake. He likes the woods 'cause it is quiet for him to write. but he also hates them 'cause they bring back very dark memories to him from the war long ago. Everyone calls him professor or Eric but he prefers to be called X. He is now a Histroy teacher and tells his students the stories of the war, and how he got the scars on his face from a bullet peircing his left cheek and through his mouth out his right cheek. All of the students were so proud of him because they assumed that he was an American GI fighting the Germans, but he has never told them that during the world war 2, he was a German Soldier.

Mockingjay is and adventure novel because the characters in the story are living in an adventure. Katniss is on and adventure to try and get Peeta back. It is more of an emotionally adventure because she has to agree to be the mochinjay and fool with the capitol. I will just have to see if it will work out.

You said the characters are living an adventure. Tell me what that adventure is. Remember, you are assuming no one has read your book. You want to give them enough information to want to read your book, without telling them the whole story.

the adventure is life in general. They wake up every knowing that on the day of the draw they could be going to compete or fight for their lives. Or when they get older and have kids of their own they will have to realize that their kids may be in the Hunger games aswell. Also if they get chosen for the hunger games, they have even more of an adventure to stay alive.
